DAI is implementing the USAID funded Women in the Economy (WIE) across the five major population centers in regional economic zones (Kabul, Herat, Mazar, Jalalabad and Kandahar) in Afghanistan. The objective of the project is to enable Afghan women to increase their participation in the mainstream, formal economy. Thunderbird is subcontracted to DAI to create and modify curriculum as well as develop practical and educational tools to support the accomplishments of key program goals. DAI is seeking a local Afghan partner organization that will support Thunderbird in the development of the toolkit by providing: 1) local expertise on the business environment and business practices, 2) translation services – English Dari, English Pashtu, as well as Dari/Pashtu English, 3) assistance creating audio case studies through interviews with real women entrepreneurs, 4) graphic design of the Toolkit and website design.
